Some moments in recovery need more than a few hours of support a day. Coming home from treatment, a relapse, a major loss, or a demanding stretch at work can all call for someone who’s present around the clock. A live-in sober companion from NMG Recovery Consulting stays with the client at home or while traveling and provides steady, 24-hour support.

When Live-In Support Makes Sense

Families and treatment teams usually recommend live-in support when the risk of relapse is high and the client’s environment is hard to control. Common situations include the first weeks after leaving residential treatment, a client who declined inpatient care but needs structure, a recent relapse, a client with a demanding public or professional schedule, and long trips, tours, or productions.

What a Live-In Companion Does

A live-in companion helps build and keep a daily routine that supports recovery. That includes sleep, meals, exercise, meetings, appointments, and work. We help clients handle cravings and stress as they happen, stay away from people and places that put them at risk, and keep commitments to their therapist, doctor, or program.

We also help with the practical side of life. Driving to appointments, handling errands, and keeping the household calm all make recovery easier. Everything is agreed on in advance, including house rules, boundaries, and how we’ll handle a slip.

A Plan That Steps Down

Live-in support isn’t meant to last forever. The goal is to build enough stability that the client can move to daytime support, then to recovery coaching and accountability, and eventually to independence. We plan that step-down from the start and adjust it as the client progresses.

Discreet by Design

Many of our live-in clients are executives, public figures, or members of high-net-worth families. We know how to be present without drawing attention, and we coordinate with household staff, assistants, and family offices as needed. Every engagement is covered by a written agreement that addresses confidentiality, scope, overnight support, and fees.

Who Provides the Support

Our founder, Nicolas Goddard, has 14 years of continuous recovery and is trained through the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy. He’s certified in CPR, First Aid, and naloxone administration, and NMG is professionally insured. We serve clients in all 50 states and internationally.
