When a custody case or court matter involves alcohol or drug use, the question is simple. Can this person show, consistently and over time, that they’re sober? NMG Recovery Consulting helps parents and clients build that record and supports the attorneys who represent them.

How We Support Monitoring Plans

Many courts and family law judges order remote alcohol testing, such as a Soberlink device, or regular drug testing. Testing shows a result. It doesn’t show the effort behind it. We provide the structure around testing that helps a client stay sober and comply with every requirement.

That can include scheduled recovery coaching and accountability check-ins, help keeping up with testing windows and program requirements, a sober companion during visitation or high-risk periods, and help connecting with meetings, outpatient programs, or counseling when the court requires them. We coordinate with the monitoring provider the court has chosen. NMG does not sell or administer testing devices.

Documented Accountability for Attorneys

Family law and criminal defense attorneys bring us in because we keep clear records. With the client’s written consent, we can provide documentation of attendance, participation, and progress for use in the case. Our legal and trial support services can also include support during court dates and hearings.

Supporting Co-Parents

Co-parenting after a separation is hard enough without a sobriety question hanging over it. We help parents stay steady, stay compliant, and focus on their relationship with their kids. We’re not there to take sides. Our job is to help the person we support stay sober and prove it.

Why Work With NMG

Our founder, Nicolas Goddard, has 14 years of continuous recovery and is trained through the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy. NMG is professionally insured, and all work is governed by a written service agreement that covers scope, confidentiality, and fees. We’re a non-clinical service and work alongside the court, the attorneys, and any treatment providers involved.
