Substance use and mental health challenges often show up together. Anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and trauma can make recovery harder, and drinking or using can make those conditions worse. NMG Recovery Consulting provides non-clinical companion support and case management for clients dealing with both, working alongside their psychiatrists, therapists, and treatment teams.

What a Mental Health Companion Does

A mental health companion provides steady, in-person support during periods when a client is vulnerable. That might be after a hospital stay, during a medication change, while waiting for a treatment bed, or during a stressful life event. We help clients keep a healthy routine, stick to their appointments and care plan, and stay connected to the people and resources that help them.

We’re not clinicians, and we don’t diagnose, provide therapy, or manage medications. What we do provide is a calm, reliable presence and practical help that makes it easier for clients to follow the plan their clinical team built.

Case Management and Care Coordination

When someone is struggling, the logistics can be overwhelming for them and their family. We help coordinate appointments, communicate with providers as the client allows, organize records, and find the right level of care when more support is needed. Our crisis case management and care coordination services give families one point of contact who keeps everything moving.

Safe Transport

Getting to a hospital, a residential program, or a new provider can be hard for someone in distress. Our sober transport service provides a calm escort by car or air, with communication to the family and receiving program throughout. If someone is a danger to themselves or others, call 911 or 988 right away.
