Meet Nicolas Goddard, Founder and Principal Consultant
Nicolas Goddard is a recovery consultant and intervention support specialist with 14 years of continuous recovery. He founded NMG Recovery Consulting to offer people something he knows firsthand makes a difference, which is a steady, experienced person in their corner who understands what early recovery and hard transitions actually feel like.
Nicolas is trained through the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy, one of the most widely recognized recovery coaching programs in the country. He is certified in CPR, First Aid, and naloxone administration, and NMG Recovery Consulting is professionally insured. Clients and families can count on someone who is prepared for difficult moments and knows how to stay calm through them.
His work covers the full range of what people in recovery face. Some clients need daily accountability and coaching. Others need a sober companion for a trip, a work obligation, or a court date. Families often call when a loved one is resisting help and they need guidance on an intervention or finding the right level of care. Nicolas meets each of those situations with the same approach. He listens first, then builds a plan that fits.
Why Lived Experience Matters
Recovery support works best when it comes from someone who has been through it. Nicolas has spent more than a decade building and protecting his own recovery, and he brings that perspective to every client relationship. He knows the pressure points, the rationalizations, and the moments when someone is most likely to slip. He also knows what long-term stability looks like and what it takes to get there.
That experience lets him relate to clients without judgment while still holding them accountable. Clients tend to trust him quickly because he speaks from experience, not from a script.
Our Commitment to Discretion
Many of our clients are executives, professionals, public-facing individuals, or families who simply want to keep a difficult situation private. We take that seriously. Every engagement starts with a confidential consultation, and all work is governed by a written service agreement that spells out scope, confidentiality, scheduling, and fees before services begin. There are no surprises, and your information stays with us.

How We Work
We start with a confidential consultation to understand what’s happening and what you need. From there, we complete an assessment and put together a plan built around your goals, schedule, and support system. Once the plan is set, we sign a service agreement so everyone knows exactly what to expect. Then the ongoing work begins, with regular check-ins, adjustments as life changes, and direct communication whenever you need it.
Who We Help
We work with adults in recovery who want structure and accountability outside of a treatment setting. We support people who are leaving treatment and need help settling back into daily life. We also guide families who are worried about a loved one and aren’t sure where to turn.
We work with high school and college students too. Teens face their own pressures, from academics and social life to the transition home after a treatment program. College brings new freedom, campus party culture, and distance from family support, which can make recovery harder to protect. We provide mentoring, accountability, and a sober presence that helps students stay on track in school and in life. For high school students, we partner closely with parents to keep the family informed and involved every step of the way. For college students, we can support the move to campus, help them connect with collegiate recovery resources, and stay in contact with families as the student and family agree.
Many of our clients work in fields where the pressure is high, the schedule is unpredictable, and privacy matters. In music, we support artists, touring musicians, and crew who need a steady sober presence on the road. In film and television, we work with actors and talent on set, on location, and during press obligations, and we coordinate with producers when a production requires sober support. We work with CEOs, founders, and senior executives who need to stay on track through board meetings, business travel, and long hours without drawing attention. Professional athletes, including those transitioning out of their playing careers, come to us for accountability during a period when structure often falls away.
We also support professionals in finance, private equity, and tech, where a demanding culture and constant scrutiny make recovery harder to protect. Physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals turn to us for consistent, documented accountability while they focus on their health and their careers. Pilots, attorneys, public figures, content creators, restaurant and hospitality professionals, and members of high-net-worth families round out the people we serve. Whatever the industry, the approach is the same. We learn how your work and life actually run, then build support that fits inside it.
Working With Referral Partners
We regularly work alongside the professionals who care for our clients. Treatment centers and detox programs refer to us for aftercare and discharge support. Criminal defense and family law attorneys bring us in for legal and trial support. Talent agents, business managers, and publicists call us when a client needs discreet help quickly. Wealth managers, family offices, therapists, psychiatrists, interventionists, and employee assistance programs rely on us to provide steady, confidential support that complements their own work. If you’re a professional looking for a trusted recovery resource for your clients, we’d welcome a conversation.
